Community Support

Golf with a purpose

championship golf & outstanding hospitality

At Kalispel Golf & Country Club (KGCC), championship golf and outstanding hospitality are only part of the story. We are proud to stand alongside the Kalispel Tribe of Indians in supporting meaningful community programs, youth development, and charitable organizations throughout the Inland Northwest. This page highlights how golf at KGCC helps drive lasting impact in Spokane and beyond.

Sunshine Club: Spokane 80 – Celebrating 80 Years of Women’s Golf History

This August, we are honored to partner with the Sunshine Club to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the inaugural U.S. Women’s Open, first played on our historic fairways in 1946. The Sunshine Club works through the sport of golf to positively impact our region, with a special focus on women and children in need.

On August 7–8, 2026, Spokane 80 will bring together golf, leadership, and community with a series of events, including:

  • Women’s Leadership Luncheon at Gonzaga University School of Leadership Studies, featuring keynote speaker Becky Calder, the first female pilot to graduate from Top Gun
  • Legends Breakfast at Kalispel Golf & Country Club with LPGA legend Nancy Lopez as keynote. Open to the public
  • Junior Golf Clinic at KGCC led by Blair O’Neal, Golf Channel’s “School of Golf” host, sponsored by The Fette Trust
  • 18–hole Pro-Am on our championship course
  • 19th Hole BBQ to cap off two days of golf and community

The Sunshine Club also partners with KGCC through the Kalispel Championships, a premier high school golf tournament for boys and girls, and the Kalispel Invitational, a women’s collegiate event that showcases the next generation of elite female golfers. Together, we are using golf to elevate women’s sports and expand opportunities for youth golfers across the region.

Charity Golf Tournaments That Feed, Protect, and Inspire

Throughout the year, Kalispel Golf & Country Club hosts a diverse calendar of charity golf tournaments that connect our members, guests, and partners to causes that matter.

Meals on Wheels Spokane – The Cotton Classic Charity Golf Tournament

The long‑running Cotton Classic is hosted at KGCC and stands as the largest annual fundraiser for Meals on Wheels Spokane. This signature event helps provide nutritious meals and critical safety checks for local seniors, in partnership with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians and Northern Quest Resort & Casino. Every swing contributes to reducing food insecurity for older adults in our community.

One Heart Spokane – Golf Tournament for At‑Risk Youth

KGCC is proud to host a boutique charity tournament that supports One Heart Spokane’s programs for kids in Spokane’s poorest ZIP codes. This event helps fund after‑school engagement, mentoring, and support services that give vulnerable youth safe spaces to learn, grow, and thrive.

Pride Cup – Invitational for Summer Camp Access

The Pride Cup at Kalispel Golf & Country Club is a members-only invitational charity event focused on scholarships to send low‑income children to Camp Reed summer camp at no cost to them or their families. Proceeds help cover camp tuition as well as essentials like clothing, gear, and supplies, providing transformative outdoor experiences and lifelong memories to over 2000 children over the tournament’s history. Until recently all funds raised for this charity has come exclusively from the participants of Pride Cup. Those individuals remain anonymous, seeking no recognition, advertisement or credit for supporting this worthwhile cause.

Extending Our Impact in the Community

These charity golf events demonstrate our belief that a great golf course can be a powerful platform to fight hunger, support kids and families, and expand access to life‑changing opportunities. Other charities supported by KGCC hosted tournaments include:

  • The Paddler Classic benefiting Maddie’s Place and Women and Children’s Free Restaurant in 2026
  • Boys & Girls Club
  • Whitworth Classic (Athletics fundraiser)
  • Young Life Golf Marathon fundraiser

Growing the Game and Stewarding the Land

Community impact at KGCC extends beyond fundraising. We are committed to growing the game of golf and caring for the environment that makes our course so special.

Kalispel Golf & Country Club’s leadership has participated in The First Green, an innovative education program that partners schools with golf courses to bring STEM learning outdoors. Through on‑course field trips, students explore environmental science topics such as soil health, water quality, and wildlife habitat—while being introduced to the game of golf in an accessible, hands‑on way.

By opening our fairways as outdoor classrooms, we help inspire curiosity, promote environmental stewardship, and welcome a new generation to the sport.

Powered by the Kalispel Tribe’s Commitment to Community

Kalispel Golf & Country Club is owned and operated by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. Every membership, dining experience, and event hosted here plays a role in advancing the Tribe’s broader vision of community impact.

The club helps fund economic development for the Kalispel Tribe and their communities, supporting health, wellness, and cultural programs that enrich tribal members and the surrounding region. Through the Kalispel Charitable Fund, the Tribe donates approximately one million dollars annually to about 200 nonprofit organizations in Spokane and Pend Oreille counties. Focus areas include:

  • Education and youth development
  • Health care and wellness
  • Arts and culture
  • Social services and basic needs
  • Environmental conservation and natural resource stewardship

When you choose Kalispel Golf & Country Club, whether for membership, a corporate outing, a tournament, or a special event, you are supporting more than a world‑class golf experience. You are investing in a network of programs that feed seniors, support children and families, elevate women’s sports, protect natural resources, and strengthen our community.
